BBC: Better Business Communications

Recently I met a very perceptive and astute man by the name of Tom McKay. (Read: he came to my seminar and complemented me on my writing.)

After the seminar we enjoyed a high-energy conversation about business, communications, copywriting and more. We had also been reading the same books, such as The Tipping Point, Blink and Freakonomics. (Actually, that last one is on my waiting list at the library.)

He emailed me yesterday to ask me to give him some feedback his new blog, BBC: Better Business Communications. It’s a great collection of posts, all centered around the theme of business communications. (But you probably already figured that out.) Everything from writing tips to what colors to use in your logo and branding, and what those colors communicate.

Even when he’s promoting his clients’ work, (something I do quite a bit in this blog,) he does it with great flair and pulls the reader into the story.

Definitely worth a read.

    Well, I guess I fooled you, Rich! ;-) >

Seriously, thanks for your kind words and the links. Coming from you, that's high praise, indeed!

To be honest, Rich, your blog (and web site) have been great inspirations to me in finally getting my own blog off the ground. Your "voice" and tone are great examples of what the cluetrain manifesto talks about — having a CONVERSATION with clients and customers, not just "marketing" at them. I'm sure your clients appreciate your sensitivity as much as the quality work you deliver.

Watch for my next project: an email newsletter! (See — you can't say I'm not up to speed on all the latest marketing doohickeys!)
