Jack Welch on Leadership

I’ve been listening to Winning by Jack Welch on my iPod lately, and the first section of the book didn’t seem too relevant to a small business entrepreneur like myself.

I think to implement differentiation with the 10/70/20 rule, you need to have 10 employees at least. However, we’re now in the leadership section of the book and I’m getting more out of it. I especially like Welch’s description of what happens the day you become a leader:

Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself, when you become a leader, success is all about growing others.

No matter what the size of your company, if you have employees, these are words to live up to.
