Web Site and Blog Links for 207 Viewers

For those of you who caught me on 207 talking blogs, I believed we said there would be links on the 207 Web site. Well, the only link was to my Web site.

Good for me, bad for you.

So, to that end, here are the links I remember (I recorded the segment a couple weeks ago, so I’m a little fuzzy. If after watching the show tonight I discover that I missed some, I’ll add them.)

  • Technorati: A well-known blog search engine. Any blogs we may have mentioned probably came from the Technorati’s Popular Blogs list. (BTW, there are many blogs we didn’t look at because the content wasn’t suited for a family oriented show. Go forth at your own risk. Especially if you want to check out Dooce or Wonkette.
  • Blogger: A free blogging option best used for personal blogs, but not robust enough for business blogs (IMHO.)
  • TypePad: An inexpensive blogging software I used to/still recommend for business bloggers. However, it’s been spotty today, and I’m quickly losing patience with it.
  • WordPress: A free, open source blogging platform we didn’t discuss on the show, but we here at flyte are now examining as a better blogging option.
  • flyte log: No, we didn’t talk about this on the show, but now that you see what a great resource I am, shouldn’t you sign up for our free email newsletter? This month’s article is going to be on podcasting.

Oops, here’s a big one I forgot:

  • Bloglines: a popular Web based newsreader. (For fellow Mac users, check out NetNewsWire by Ranchero software. It’s like buttah.)
