I don’t know about those non-VOIP providers and their comments but if you want to play it safe, or you can’t afford to experiment into something new, I suggest you take the good old, non-VOIP, PBX. Feel free to try hybrids too so you can fall back into your regular phone line in case the hosted VOIP starts showing the issues those providers told you about!

I love my Voip. I have it working through an Asterisk PBX on Ubuntu and it's amazing. I love the fact I can code new functionality for my voicemail system.
