Pierce Outdoor Furniture

Pierce Outdoors, a Maine company selling a premier selection of patio and outdoor furniture recently relaunched their site.

Pierce Outdoors sells high-quality outdoor furniture. Visitors to their website can view the products they carry from a variety of different materials:

Pierce Outdoors was happy with their current website design, but felt that their search engine visibility could be improved. In addition, they wanted to be able to add, edit and delete products themselves, something they couldn’t do with their current website.

Flyte helped Pierce move to a WordPress platform, the popular, open-source CMS for building websites and blogs. We created new landing pages for both categories and products that were keyword rich, helping increase Pierce’s search engine visibility and qualified traffic to the website.

If you’re looking for great outdoor furniture, be sure to checkout Piece Outdoor Furniture. If you need a website that you can update yourself and ranks high in the search engines, contact flyte today!

Drumcircle – Build Emotivationally Powerful Messages

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Drumcircle“People are messy. We can help with that.”

So says Drumcircle, a unique research and communications company that helps marketers find the emotionally resonant component of a product or brand and communicate that to their audience.

People aren’t always rational when it comes to making decisions, especially buying decisions. Our emotions often drive us. Drumcircle helps companies understand these reasons, which they call Emotivations™, so their messaging is on target.

They’ve created a proprietary research tool called b.frank that reveals Emotivations. You can even test out b.frank for yourself with an online survey.

Principals Bill Mount and Anne Manning are also blogging at the site, with some great insights into consumer behavior with posts like “To ‘Understand Chinese Consumers’, Start By Understanding People,” and introspective posts like “Are You Smart Enough?

The blog–and the entire website–is powered by WordPress, so that Drumcircle can blog and update their own website through one easy-to-use admin panel. If you’ve been shying away from WordPress or another CMS because you were afraid the design would look canned, hopefully flyte’s Creative Director, Ryan Goan, has given you reason to reflect.

So, if you’re looking to get a better understanding of why people buy your product (or don’t), or how they feel about your brand (or why they don’t), be sure to head over to Drumcircle and start learning more about emotions and buying habits.

Senior Care in Portland, Maine: The Cedars

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

The Cedars: Portland, Maine Senior CareThe Cedars offers a full continuum of senior living options in Portland, Maine. They used WordPress to help engage their audience.

This week flyte launched a new website for the Cedars, designed by Braden Buehler of Narrative Design. The site is organized around the Cedars continuum of senior care:

I was privileged enough to get a tour of the facility one time while I was there and I can tell you that it’s just a beautiful place. (Side note: before I started flyte I was a sales rep for a company that sold to nursing homes, so I’ve probably been inside 100+ facilities in my life. This place rocks.)

Whatever the needs for you or a loved one are, The Cedars is the place to check out if you have ties to Maine. You should definitely set up a time for a tour.

The new site was built on WordPress, the open-source content management system (CMS) platform. Now The Cedars can update their own site, posting new events, blogging, uploading images, embedding videos and more. They have complete control over their new site to better reflect the ongoing changes and happenings at their facility.

Besides the beautiful design, Braden also handled the copywriting for the site, guided by the keyword analysis and other search engine optimization services offered by the talented web marketers I work with.

If you’re looking for senior living options in southern Maine, be sure to check out the Cedars. If you’re looking to grow your business (or facility) online, be sure to contact flyte.

Megunticook Market in Camden, Maine Relaunches on WordPress

Friday, July 15th, 2011

Megunticook MarketLooking for a specialty market in Camden, Maine? Check out Megunticook Market.

Whether you live in Camden, Maine, (map) or you’re just one of the thousands of people who who love visiting Maine’s rocky coast in the Camden/Rockport area every year, you need to check out Megunticook Market.

Besides a great selection of wine & cheeses and a focus on local Maine foods, you can also get your parties catered through Megunticook as well.

I’ve known proprietor Lani Temple for a few years now, and she’s popped into our offices more than once with some treats. They’re always delicious and definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. (And worth a drive if you’re not!)

Lani also often appears on 207, a popular evening news program, sharing recipes and tips with the hosts and viewers.

Megunticook Market also is on Facebook, so be sure to like them there.

Megunticook Market had launched their site a few years back, and were looking for a more updated look and more control over the content. We freshened up the design and rebuilt the site on WordPress, a popular content management system that’s perfect for most small businesses. Lani had a blog that had been built on TypePad. To make her life easier, we exported most of her old posts and repopulated them on the WordPress platform. Now she only has one login to manage both her blog and site.

If you want a great specialty market experience on the Maine coast, be sure to check out Megunticook Market in Camden, Maine. If you need a website that you can update and manage yourself, be sure to contact flyte today.

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

IT, AIT, RFID and AIDC SolutionsEvanhoe & Associates is a provider of IT, AIT, RFID and AIDC solutions. If you’re not sure what all of those acronyms stand for, here’s a breakdown:

  • What is IT? OK, we started you off with an easy one: Information Technology.
  • What is AIT? AIT stands for Automatic Identification Technologies; with AIT workers can perform jobs better. Systems can assist with inventory, product shelf life, asset management and more.
  • What is RFID? RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification; RFID enabled facilities allow for increased asset visibility throughout the manufacturing process.
  • What is AIDC? AIDC stands for Automatic Identification and Data Capture; which apparently does everything AIT does plus it captures data.

Would you like that kind of control over your own website?

Maine Boys & Girls Camps Get Blogging

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

Recently we started working with KieveWavus, a group that runs a number of camp programs in Maine. They run a Maine boys camp, Kieve (rhymes with beHAVE) and sister Maine girls camp, Wavus (I don’t know if it rhymes with anything, but it’s a short “a”).

In addition, they run The Leadership School, The Kennedy Learning Center, a Veterans’ Camp, and a 9/11 camp for the families and friends affected by the terrorist attacks.

Besides working with KW on their social media marketing, we developed a blog for them that would complement their current designs and branding. The blog is just getting started, but it will serve many purposes…everything from communications with parents, campers and alumni, as well as a way to reach out to veteran’s familes, and those affected by 9/11 to let them know there’s a safe place for them to come.

Both Kieve & Wavus have these amazing theme days…last year one of them was Avatar day, when the counselors dressed up in full Na’vi outfits and painted blue from head to toe. (I would have suggested that the following day would be Blue Man Group day, just to save time and blue paint.) They plan on keeping parents in the loop with some of the theme days throughout the summer months.

If you’re looking for a Maine camp for your son or daughter, be sure to check out KieveWavus.
