Photo Booth Rental – Top Hat Photos Booths

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

We recently completed a relaunch of Top Hat Photo Booths, a photo booth rental company with locations in Floria, Maine, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island.

There were a few things that made Top Hat Photo Booths a cool company to work with:

  • Their photo booths are much cooler than traditional rental photo booths; they can be taken apart and set up just about anywhere. That means they would work on a casual wedding in a meadow in Maine or on the rooftop of a Manhattan apartment.
  • Their booths offer great branding opportunities; the sides of the photo booth can be tailored to your needs, whether they evoke wedding images (champagne glasses clinking) or your corporate image for a big corporate event.
  • Their prices are lower than their competitors. With pricing that starts at just $750 they’re hard to beat.

Top Hat had a nice looking site, but as they were about to expand into several new markets, the site wasn’t as scalable as they wished. In addition, they couldn’t make their own updates.

Our solution was to rebuild the site on WordPress and tweak the design and layout to make it more scalable so that it could grow as Top Hat grows. We also added a blog and created a nice feature where Top Hat could upload new photos for the top banner area and the site would automatically add a consistent treatment to all the photos.

The second part of the project, just starting, is to help Top Hat increase their online visibility. This will be a combination of social media and search engine optimization.

Even though Top Hat stretches up and down the east coast, no one is searching for “east coast photo booth rental.” That means that Top Hat has to focus on their local search results as much as general search results, if not more. Now brides, event planners and companies can find information on:

If you need a photo booth rental for your next corporate event, wedding or bar/bat mitzvah, be sure to check out Top Hat Photo Booth.

Nationwide Research Company Launches New Site

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Last week we launched a new web site for Nationwide Research Company (NRC), a source for court documents and archived records.

NRC’s services include document retrieval, on-site searches, corporate research, case monitoring, chapter 11 filings and more. In short, if you need documents, this is your one-stop shop.

NRC wanted to have the ability to add, edit and delete content on their site as needed, so we built the site on WordPress, an open-source blogging/content management system (CMS). Now they can log in and update information as they need to, without having to run everything through some pricey web developer. (Sniff!)

With offices on both the left and right coast, that also helps keep down costs as they don’t need to buy multiple copies of HTML editing software for multiple people; instead any modern browser will allow them to keep the information on their web site fresh…something the search engines (and your customers) love to see.

If you need court documents or chapter 11 filings, be sure to check out Nationwide Research Company. If you need a custom-designed web site on a content management system, we’d love to answer your questions.

Affordable Small Business Web Sites

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

We often shine a light on the custom web designs we do for clients here at the flyte blog, but we don’t often give that same attention to our clients who use one of our ProSite designs. ProSites are our affordable, pre-designed (by flyte) sites built on WordPress.

They’re cost-effective, quick to setup, and easy to run. They’re perfect for startups, or businesses that would rather put their budget towards search engine optimization, email marketing, blogging or some other web marketing campaign.

Since so many of this year’s crop are using their new web sites to grow their businesses, I wanted to give them a little “link love.” If you see someone who can help you, please feel free to check them out.

If you’re looking for a new, affordable web site, if you’re looking to upgrade your current site, or if you’d like to be able to update your web site in house, a ProSite or one of our other sites may be right for you. Contact flyte today.

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Last week flyte launched a WordPress web site for the Goldbelt Heritage Foundation, the 3rd web site we’ve completed for Goldbelt Corporation, all done on WordPress so that the company can update and manage their own web presence.

Visitors to the site can learn more about the Tlinglit language preservation project, learn about upcoming cultural events, and even see and hear examples of the Tlinglit language being spoken.

Previous work for Goldbelt included the Goldbelt Tours web site and the Goldbelt Corporate site.

Artist Designed Ribbon Belts from Belted Cow

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Flyte recently launched a newly designed website for Belted Cow, a Maine company selling ribbon belts inspired and created by artists.

Visitors to the site can shop for a wide variety of belts for adults or children. One of my favorite belts is The History of Streaking. (No, the irony is not lost on me.) There are plenty of gift ideas, especially if your loved one has a love of nautical-themed clothing or likes to keep his pants up with an homage to the Tour de France.

Pets aren’t forgotten, as many of the cool designs have been appropriated for collars and leashes.

The site offers an easy-to-use shopping cart and is powered by a hybrid of WordPress and flyte’s own custom e-commerce programming.

If you’ve been searching for a fun, whimsical way of keeping your pants from falling down–especially when everything ends up on YouTube these days–be sure to check out Belted Cow.

Custom Billiard Tables from Hatch Billiards

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Last week we launched a new web site for Hatch Billiards, maker of custom pool tables and billiards furniture.

I had the opportunity to visit Howard Hatch in his workshop and see some of his work in progress. He does some amazing things with wood and other materials. If you’re looking for the perfect addition to your man cave, Howard’s got you covered from custom pool tables to extremely cool billiards furniture. If you’re an interior decorator or an architect, a Hatch Billiards pool table may be just what the client’s room needs.

We originally were planning on porting Howard’s previous web design to WordPress so that he could update all of his content without knowing any HTML. However, while working on the site Howard got some great new photos and tweaked his logo, so it was more of a redesign and a WordPress port.

If you’ve been looking for the perfect centerpiece to your game room, be sure to check out Hatch Billiards.

If you’d like to learn more about updating your web site to a WordPress powered CMS (content management system) please contact flyte today.

Maine Biotechnology Services Celebrates 20 Years with a Makeover

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Maine Biotechnology Services has been providing antibody products, development and production for over 20 years. Recently, they decided it was time for a web site makeover that would better reflect all of their new services.

If you’ve been searching for monoclonal & polyclonal antibodies–and really, who hasn’t?–you’ll be able to take advantage of MBS’s antibody products search. You can search by keyword or browse antibodies by category, such as human hormones, parasitic or tumor cancer markers.

Flyte put the new site on WordPress so MBS could manage the content inhouse, keeping down maintenance costs. In addition, we repurposed the blog software for a What’s New section that updates the home page automatically.

If you’re looking for Sheep Polyclonal Antibody to Bromodeoxyuridine-5 (BrdU)-HRP Conjugated, be sure to check out Maine Biotechnology Services. If you’re looking for a professional web site that you can update and maintain inhouse, please contact flyte.

WordPress Conversions: Beauty is More Than Skin Deep

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

360FuelCard, providers of fleet fuel cards that benefit the environment, liked the look of their Web site.

What they didn’t like is the lack of control they had. Every update had to be run through an outside developer, hindering their ability to quickly add content. It also became a cost issue: adding new pages was expensive, making them thing twice before adding new content to the site.

WordPress gave them that control, and is helping them keep a cap on expenses. We took their current design and ported it over to WordPress, the popular open-source blogging and content management system platform. We also added a blog, so they would have a powerful communication tool they could use to keep customers in the loop and engage new prospects.

They can now update any page, day or night, uploading new photos or embedding videos of their products in action. And they can do it inhouse without having to pay an outside provider.

If you need a fuel card that’s accepted at nearly 100% of fuel stations across the US and contributes to a cleaner environment with every fill-up, be sure to check out 360FuelCard.

If you need to gain control of your Web site, and reign in update fees, talk to flyte about converting your site to a content management system.

Golf Simulator Blog: Good For Driving in the Rain

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Get it? Driving in the rain? Golf simulator? Indoor golf? C’mon people, this stuff is gold!

Anyway, I digress.

Recently we worked with P3ProSwing, creators of these amazing golf simulators and analyzers. They were looking to increase their online visibility at the search engines.

First we did a keyword analysis to determine which keyword phrases were most likely to drive qualified leads to the site, and made changes to the content on the site to reflect this research.

We also determined that a blog would be a perfect complementary channel for sharing this content with a wider audience. Flyte built the Golf Simulator Blog for P3Pro on WordPress, the popular blogging platform, as well as providing some blog consulting and training as well.

The blog hasn’t been up long, but there’s already a lot of great content for the golf enthusiast, with tips on improving your putting game, the 5 most important golf swing metrics for a great drive, and of course what golfers can expect out of a golf simulator.

If you’ve been interested in a golf simulator or indoor golf, be sure to check out the Golf Simulator Blog. Or you could take advice from this guy.
